Health Care Reform Bill a.k.a. “Obamacare” simplified. Here’s a breakdown for the confused, lost and uninsured:
- Cost: $940 billion over 10 years
- Deficit: Would reduce the deficit by $143 billion over the first ten years
- Coverage: Expand to 32 million Americans currently uninsured
- Health Insurance Exchanges:
- The uninsured and self-employed be able to purchase through state-based exchanges
- Separate exchange created for small businesses to purchase coverage effective 2014
- Funding available to states to establish exchanges within one year of enactment until January 1, 2015
